Personal Philosophy of Education

I believe there is a strong relationship between education and society.  Schools are the places in which children learn to become responsible citizens.  The role of education places importance upon cognitive development and social-emotional development.  Children should be challenged in all areas of their multiple intelligences, along with also being challenged to become a good person.  I believe children should be taught in a nurturing environment that provides them with stimulation.  Motivation is a key element in a child’s learning process, and to achieve this there must be some form of reinforcement or reward system in use.  It is the teacher’s responsibility to provide students with information that contains an application to real life situations.  A teacher  should be a positive role model for all students.  I believe a teacher should strive to use different teaching techniques to improve the learning process of students.  Schools should be institutions in which all children are treated equally, regardless of their race or economic status.
