Resources for Child Caring recently published a report,
"Family Child Care Providers and Center Directors: Potential E-Learners"
based on a survey funded by the McKnight Foundation. The primary focus of the report was on training. However, the findings within the report may be useful as you further explore your concept. The survey was conducted over a five state area.
Major findings from the report are:
*54% of the family child care providers reported using the Internet at least
once a month to gather information.
*63% of the family providers use e-mail.
*56% of the family providers use the World Wide Web for information and communication. About one third of the providers have purchased goods or services over the Web.
*79% of family providers were interested in taking a child care training course over the Web. Child care providers desire new kinds of training.
People learn best the moment they need information. eSchool Preschool will provide links and instant access to a wealth of knowledge, information and resources through distance learning sites..
